Build Independence through practical
Cooking Skills

Small group, skills-based sessions for people with disabilities, including NDIS participants

At Cook With Stu, we provide a structured and inclusive learning environment where NDIS participants build practical, everyday skills for greater independence.

Through small group sessions, participants develop confidence in planning and preparing healthy meals, snacks, and everyday food options in a supportive, hands-on setting. Each session is designed to strengthen essential life skills that can be applied at home and in daily routines.

Our program focuses on building core capabilities such as meal planning, food preparation, kitchen and knife safety, basic nutrition, and understanding ingredients.

Participants are supported to develop skills that promote independence, improve decision-making, and reduce reliance on others in everyday living.

While sessions are engaging and enjoyable, the focus remains on meaningful skill development in a safe and supportive environment. Participants also benefit from working alongside others, encouraging communication, confidence, and positive social interaction as part of the learning process.

Cook With Stu was founded by Stu, who is passionate about helping others develop real-life skills through food, while creating a welcoming and supportive space to learn and grow.

Yes. Our staff have years of experience working in commercial kitchens and have been trained in food preparation, food safety and cooking techniques. All our staff have their NDIS yellow card and working with children Blue card.

Our classes are capped at 6 participants as we like to keep the small group feel. This allows more one on one time during class and results in more group interaction. We plan, cook and eat together as a group.
